Music: Williams Street Records to Release Phaseone LP “If I Tell U” May 7th

Between soundtracks, free compilations, and full and physical releases from varied artists, Adult Swim’s music imprint, Williams Street Records has a lot under its belt. It’s a bit of a mixed bag (Witchdoctor’s The Diary of an American Witchdoctor did far from well if the ol’ Shop’s deal on multiple copies for the price of one is any indication), but there’s no escaping how good some of it is– the label released one of 2012’s most critically acclaimed hip hop records, Killer Mike’s R.A.P. Music and the three Adult Swim Singles Programs have been chock full of tracks that made the rounds (last year’s included Death Grips b-side “@deathgripz”, left off of their also acclaimed The Money Store and named after their since-deleted Twitter account).

The label’s kicking off their 2013 by releasing Brooklyn producer Phaseone’s new LP, If I Tell U on May 7th. The album comes after Phaseone kicked off the year himself with the single It’s Not Forever, and includes 11 tracks of new, fully original melodies, a bit of a change from the producer’s previous sample-heavy work, or so XLR8R puts it. You can check out the first single from If I Tell U, and the opener, Blood Spirit I, here:

And the album’s track listing:

1 Blood Spirit I
2 Bodega
3 Hunter
4 Tangiers
5 Hexagon Kingdom
6 Bianca
7 Tropicalist
8 Arsenal Magnolia
9 Kings
10 Dialogue
11 Phaseone

And again, check out If I Tell U in stores on May 7th, 2013, only from Williams Street Records.
