Tim Burton in talks to direct BEETLEJUICE 2
Tim Burton is in talks to direct Beetlejuice 2. Michael Keaton is set to reprise his role as the ghost with the most. The Wrap reports that the sequel is being produced by The Geffen Company, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions.
Burton had been thought to work on 20th Century Fox’s fantasy film Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, but that does not look to be his next project. Beetlejuice 2 may not be his next directing gig, but with Burton’s schedule having some room and the immense popularity of the character, the stars may be aligned to make this the best sequel it can be.
Keaton will be next bee seen in the RoboCop reboot, HBO’s Clear History and Need For Speed. I can’t think of anyone else that could play the iconic role. Burton did not wow fans with Dark Shadows so Beetlejuice 2 could be the perfect way to get the fans back in his corner.
When the film first came out in theaters I went to see it two times in one day on opening weekend. I haven’t watch the same movie twice in a day for a while, but Beetlejuice 2 may be the film that changes that.
