A Lot Going on in New AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Trailer

There’s a lot of action happening in this new Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer, which Sony just released today. If you haven’t been keeping a close eye on the casting news and plot leaks like I have (there are just some movies I distance myself from just so I can enjoy the ride when it finally comes out) then you may feel that familiar feeling you felt about the Spider-Man 3. No, we’re not talking about the goofy campiness that somehow materialized in that sequel, we’re talking about the potential of introducing way too many villains at once.

Vulture’s wings and Doctor Octopus’ mechanical arms.

In the trailer we get glimpses of Rhino, what looks to be the Green Goblin, Vulture’s wings and Doc Oc’s mechanical tentacles on display, and of course, Electro (Jamie Foxx). They do lend a tiny bit of explanation: Peter’s late father was somehow involved in some super secret research and now OsCorp seems to want to unleash his experiments for nefarious evil-doings. It’s entirely possible that the release of certain villains will just be a one and done appetizers, testing Spidey’s abilities while they wreak havoc across NYC, before the main course. Still, these glimpses not only overwhelm us, but they kind of spoil the surprise, don’t you think? Either way, we’re still pretty excited.

There’s just one thing…

Amazing Spider-Man 2 strong man

I know Spidey’s super strong, but we’ve never seen him able to do this; I don’t recall him ever being this strong.¬†Watch the trailer, you’ll see what I mean.
