Adam Driver to play Lead Villain in STAR WARS EPISODE VII

J.J. Abrams has found the lead villain for Star Wars Episode VII. Variety is reporting that Adam Driver (Girls) is close to a deal to play the villain in the much-anticipated continuation of the Star Wars saga. His character is reported as being “in the vein of iconic ‘Star Wars’ villain Darth Vader.”

Adam Driver was once rumored to play Nightwing in Batman Vs. Superman, but that has since been denied. Driver stars in HBO’s Girls, where his character is currently an aspiring actor. He had also been rumored for a role in Star Wars Episode VII, but now seems to be Disney and LucasFilm’s top choice to take the role. Scheduling issues were the only reason an offer had not been made, but those issues have now been resolved. Filming is set to begin in London this April to meet a December 18th, 2015 release.

Driver was most recently seen in Inside Llewyn Davis. This role would be his most notable one to date. I for one think he is a great addition, but I am a huge fan of Girls. I am super excited for Star Wars Episode VII, so I will be happy with just about anyone that gets cast.

Do you think Adam Driver will make a good villain in Star Wars Episode VII?
