BREAKING NEWS: Attack on Titan Coming to Toonami May 3rd

Toonami has just announced a new show acquisition over on the fantastic Tumblr account they run and it’s one a lot of people have been asking for and one that I think a lot of people expected: the 2013 dystopian giant-weird-dudes-attacking-regular-dudes action anime Attack on Titan is hitting the block May 3rd at 11:30 PM. The show will displace Space Dandy reruns to 12:30 AM.

Come May 3rd, your Toonami lineup will go like this:

11:30 – Attack on Titan

12:00 – Bleach

12:30 – Space Dandy

1:00 – Naruto: Shippuden

1:30 – One Piece

2:00 – Blue Exorcist

2:30 – Black Lagoon

3:00 – Naruto

3:30 – GITS

4:00 – FMAB

4:30 – Samurai Jack

5:00 – SWCW

5:30 – Sym–bionic Titan

So, if you’re out of the loop and you’re unaware of this show that got pretty popular during its run, here’s a synopsis via FUNimation:

When the man-eating giants called Titans first appeared, humans retreated behind massive walls. After a hundred years of safety, a colossal-sized Titan smashes through the defenses, unleashing a flood of giants and carnage in the streets. Eren Jaeger watches helplessly as one of the creatures devours his mother.

He vows to kill every Titan walking the earth.

Eren and his surviving friends enlist to fight against the insatiable monsters. The future looks bleak, but there’s more to Eren than meets the eye: he may be humanity’s last hope against extinction. From the director of Death Note and High School of the Dead comes the series Anime News Network calls “an intense, visceral, and graphic thrill ride.” The Titans have come to feast. Anything can happen. No one is safe.

If you haven’t seen this one, but have heard the hype, or you have and you want to see it again, set your alarms for May 3rd at 11:30 PM.

Also, if you’re so inclined, FUNimation currently has the show up for pre-order on a DVD and Blu-ray combo pack. Ships in June.

It’s only on Toonami. Only on Adult Swim. Yeehaw.
