THE ORDER 1886 Delayed to 2015
Sony announced The Order 1886 has been delayed to early 2015. The Order was originally slated for release in 2014, but the news came in a recent post on the PlayStation Blog along with more details on the game’s features.
“As we look to bring this experience to the players,” says Ru Weerasuriya, CEO and Creative Director of Ready At Dawn Studios, “we have decided to spend some extra time to deliver on the promise we made when we first introduced the game. As such, you can expect The Order: 1886 to come exclusively to the PlayStation 4 in early 2015.”
The Order 1886 premiered during the Sony press conference at E3 2013. The stunning Victorian-era, third-person shooter features cover-based action–a la Gears of War— and will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4. But with any high-profile release, sometimes a delay is needed for the greater good and developer Ready at Dawn needed to make the call as stated in the blog post.
This latest news is a downer, but a polished game is always more welcomed. Hopefully Sony will surprise everyone with some good news at this year’s press conference–The Last Guardian, anyone?
