Ben Kingsley To Voice Bagheera In Jon Favreau’s THE JUNGLE BOOK

Disney is currently casting roles for its live action remake of The Jungle Book, which will be directed by Iron Man‘s Jon FavreauThor actor Idris Elba is on board to voice Shere Khan, with Scarlett Johansson and recent Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o negotiating to play Kaa and Rakcha, respectively. Now, we have the most prestigious choice to date. Disney has announced that Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley has been cast as black panther Bagheera in The Jungle Book. Based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel, Disney’s new take – scripted by Justin Marks – will be a live action/CG hybrid. The Jungle Book is set to hit theaters October 9th, 2015.


Ben Kingsley is best known for his roles in GandhiSchindler’s List, and Sexy Beast. He recently appeared in Iron Man 3, playing a controversial take on the “Mandarin”. Kingsley will be seen in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb and Exodus: Gods and Kings this Christmas. Still to be cast in The Jungle Book are Mowgli and Baloo.
