Oh, Shia LaBeouf. ‘Not Famous Anymore’ Star Arrested at CABARET
The former Transformers star, Shia LaBeouf, has had a strange year so far. First it was his plagiarizing a short story, then walking onto the red carpet with a paper bag over his head which read “I am not famous anymore,” and let’s not forget a bizarre press conference in which he showed up with a missing tooth and babbled on and on incoherently. His latest string of inexplicable actions involves him being disruptive during the first act of the Broadway show, Cabaret, starring Alan Cumming, Michelle Williams, and ex-girlfriend Carey Mulligan.
Reports say that the 28-year-old actor verbally threatened security and patrons at Studio 54 on Thursday, as well as hurling similar threats to police officers after intermission. Patrons who witnessed the occurrence are saying that he also lit a cigarette and firmly patted other’s backs in front of him.
According to IGN, LeBeouf tweeted that he was retiring from all public life because of his apparent plagiarism, but then later explained that it was “performance art.” One witness during LaBeouf’s arrest last night said this so-called performance art may be the reason for the actor’s odd behavior as well as his arrest. “Honestly, I wasn’t thinking of drunk or drugs,” said the unnamed witness. “I was thinking he was working on a role, because it was that extreme.”
Are we getting another Joaquin Phoenix? Is that it? Either way, he’s still copying another person’s bizarre behavior…
