Adult Swim @ San Diego Comic Con 2014: The Full Slate O’ Stuff

It’s coming.

The biggest convention of the year every year is a couple of weeks away, and Adult Swim is going to be there with Fun Houses and Meatwad domes and prize wheels and a whole load of stuff for you to do. Scrap the rest of your San Diego Comic Con International schedule: Swim’s takin’ over.

Swim’s got a booth each year at SDCC (unlike NYCC, unfortunately– we hope they’ll get one again one day!) and each year, they give attendees the chance to win cool stuff. And also buy cool stuff. Give them your money.

This year is no different, as Swim is setting up camp at booth #3721 and is bringing along the Wheel of Wonder. As the official website says, “bear-hugs. Cloaks. Mystery prizes and fateful spins await your spinning hands”. Go get you some swag.

Always the highlight and main thing to do at Comic Con (besides the show floor), panels bring news, free crap, laughs, and moments you’ll never forget thanks to people who make shows you like (I’ll always remember our shouting match against the panel next door at the New York Comic Con 2010 Delocated! panel). What do the gang from Williams Street have set up for you? So much. Just, so much.

Thursday, July 24th

  • Childrens Hospital Panel, Presented by WB and Adult Swim. 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM in Panel Room 25ABC.

Friday, July 25th

  • The 5th Annual Adult Swim Panel Block at the Hilton Bayfront Indigo Ballroom.
    • 12:15 PM – 1:00 PM: The Venture Bros
    • 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM: The Triumph the Insult Comic Dog/Jack McBrayer Panel
    • 1:45 PM – 2:30 PM: Rick & Morty
    • 2:30 PM – 3:15 PM: Mike Tyson Mysteries
    • 3:15 PM – 4:00 PM: Robot Chicken

Saturday, July 26th

Here’s a real cool thing about these panels: a Comic Con badge is NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND THESE PANELS. So if you’re in the area, pop by.

  • Adult Swim Panels at the Petco Park Parking Lot, Park Blvd and Tony Gwynn Dr
    • 8:00 PM – 8:45 PM: Black Jesus
    • 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM: The Adult Swim Animation Panel: Superjail!, King Star King, Mr. Pickles

These are your chances to sit in rooms (or parking lots) and hear your favorite creators talk about their stuff, and find out when stuff comes back and probably see some cool unreleased stuff from new episodes! It’s cool. Go do it.

Get an object. Get a marker. Get that object scribbled on by celebrities.

A note about all of the signings: there won’t be a normal line for any of these. Tickets will be allotted for each signing by a drawing, and they’ll be first come, first served. The limited tickets will be given out early in the day, and if you’re dead set on attending one of these, you can start lining up for one of the tickets once doors open day of the signing.

The tickets for signings on Thursday the 24th and Friday the 25th will be given out in the Sails Pavilion. The drawings for tickets will be held at 8 AM, day of the signings, and you may line up when doors open that day.

Tickets for the Saturday, July 26th signings will be available at the Adult Swim booth itself. Tickets are limited, and first come, first served.

Good luck!

Saturday, July 26th

It’s back! For the second year in a row, Adult Swim’s bringing along the Fun House. It’ll be open July 24th-26th, from 3;00 PM – 10:00 PM each day. The Fun House is a ticketed event– they’ll be distributed at noon each day it’s open, and like the signings, it’s first come first served. Also, it’s 18+. And free! So get your tickets ASAP each day if you want in.

The Fun House is in the Petco Park parking lot, at Park Blvd and Tony Gwynn Drive. Bottom of the pedestrian bridge, opposite of the Hilton Bayfront.

While you’re at the Fun House, check out the Meatwad full dome experience. It’s a dome. That is Meatwad. Go check it out.

Like the Fun House, tickets for the Meatwad dome will be distributed at noon daily, first come, first served, and is open from the 24th until the 26th from 3 – 10 PM. It’s also is in the Petco Park parking lot, at Park Blvd and Tony Gwynn Drive. Bottom of the pedestrian bridge, opposite of the Hilton Bayfront

Here’s where I get jealous of all of y’all going to SDCC: Friday, July 25th in the Petco Park parking lot is the Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories jammy party. Get a first look at their new show, Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories, all while you’re all nestled in your comfy PJs.

Pajamas and an RSVP are required to attend. Keep an eye on the official Swim SDCC page, because RSVP will begin on July 16th for this event.

From July 24th-27th, Adult Swim and Lexus will give you a free ride. Yep.

During the con, there will be special Adult Swim Lexus CT hybrid cars driving around San Diego. Need a lift? Flag one down, and they’ll take you anywhere within the service area. You have to be 18 or older to get a free ride from Swim and Lexus. For more information, like what the cars will look like, the service area, and the rules of the road, click these shiny words here.

Whoever isn’t attending the con, whether you’re nowhere near San Diego or you just plain ol’ didn’t get a ticket, the panels will be online after (as evidenced by the Watch Panels option on the Comic Con page).

If you are attending, have fun! Have a hell of a time with all the Adult Swim goods. If you’re going, and you go to any of these events, share your experience with us on Adult Swim Central! Email us, comment on here, hit us up on Twitter or Facebook, and let us know how the Fun House is, how the panels go, and what the hell is inside the Meatwad dome. Keep us posted, y’all.

And have an awesome con.
