Exclusive Interview With the Guys Behind THE HUMAN CONDITION
Picture three grown men, best friends if you would, sprawled out on a single couch, watching a riveting nature documentary. Now add in a giant yellow, comic book appropriate thought bubble showing their collective internal monologue: “What if someone made a nature documentary about humans (with an implied ‘scripted’ before ‘nature,’ since these gentleman aren’t the sort that think anyone is actually fooled by the term ‘reality television’)?” And that’s pretty much how The Human Condition started to take root, in a nutshell.
The Human Condition is the brain child of real life best friends Arnie Pantoja, Keith Pratt, and Brandon Henry Rodriguez – all members to various degrees of the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. At first glance, this web series, produced quite artfully with all the constraints of a limited budget, appears to be a crude way of poking fun at the silly things that people naturally tend to do. If you take a second look (and you certainly should), The Human Condition is exactly that – with the best intentions at its core.
Pantoja, Pratt, and Rodriguez all play enhanced versions of themselves as they attempt to deconstruct the human condition in 3 multi-part episodes (although, rumor has it that there is an additional episode that was completed, but never released). The friends bring their pre-existing chemistry to the web with some unbelievable antics that will have you laughing until it hurts.
You can catch all the episodes of The Human Condition on ThisIsTHC.com or on YouTube, as well as conveniently keep up with all their current antics on Twitter and Facebook. Make sure to let them know if you want more! And, if you ever run into these guys at the back of a dive bar located in or around the San Fernando Valley, sit down, have a beer, and listen to them talk for a while – you won’t be disappointed.
