Get a First Look at Adrianne Palicki as Marvel’s Mockingbird

It’s very exciting to see more and more Marvel characters coming into the fold on ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Today, ABC has released the first official photo of the latest Marvel favorite coming into the fold, Bobbie Morse, played by Adrianne Palicki.

Morse, also known as Mockingbird, will make her entrance into the shadowy world of spies this season in “A Hen in the Wolfhouse” where she will be introduced as the head of Hydra Security. The title alone should be some indication that all is not what it seems with her character, and this could prove troublesome for our heroes one way or another.

ADRIANNE PALICKI

Created by Gerry Conway and Barry Smith, Mockingbird made her debut in Astonishing Tales #6 in 1971. Since then she’s been a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as the Avengers. Though she has no super powers to speak of, she was given an experimental drug that gave her enhanced strength and speed. Mockingbird is also known for her on again, off again relationship with Hawkeye.

Palicki is most famous for her role on the series Friday Night Lights. Afterward, she cut her teeth in the superhero movie world as Wonder Woman in David E. Kelley’s failed NBC pilot, and even played Lady Jaye in G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

While some of us are still holding out hope that Jessica Drew and/or Carol Danvers will make an appearance on the show (one way or another), the coming of Bobbi Morse is a very good sign that we may see more female Marvel heroes down the line. Heck, we’re just happy they’re starting to pull more and more characters from the source material, period.

Palicki makes her debut October 21. Can’t wait!
