New JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS Comic Revealed at NYCC
Whether it will follow the original story line or if it will be a new story all on it’s own is a mystery, but a Jem and the Holograms comic was announced at the IDW/Hasbro panel at NYCC. Nothing is known about the plot yet or writer/illustrator. It’s no surprise that IDW will be publishing Jem and the Holograms because IDW publishes another Hasbro licensed title, Transformers.
The original Jem and The Holograms television series began in 1985 and it followed Jerrica Benton, her sister and friends as they became stars after finding Synergy, who was left to Jerrica by her late father. It was an extremely positive show for girls and people of all ages, it taught great lessons and the main character Jerrica was very kind and loving to everyone she met. Jem and the Holograms is one my personal favorite animated shows.
The comic will appear in stores in the spring of 2015, and hopefully Jem and the Holograms creator Christy Marx will have more to do with it than she does with the upcoming live-action movie.
