Two Cool Anime Dogs

First off, I’m upset that there aren’t enough dogs in anime. Dogs are great, and anime is great, and every time the two are combined…it’s great. I wanted to have some fun, so I picked my favorites to show some appreciation toward anime dogs. Here we go…

Heen from Howl’s Moving Castle

Heen from Howls
The protagonist of Howl’s Moving Castle, Sophie, runs into this cutie on her way to tell Suliman that Howl won’t take part in the war. Sophie first thinks that Heen is Howl in disguise, but he turns out to be Suliman’s dog. When Sophie leaves, she takes Heen with her. That pleased me because I was sad about Heen belonging to a bad person and deserves better. And who doesn’t his little wheezy huffs?

Ein from Cowboy Bebop

ein from bebop
THIS IS EVERYONE’S FAVORITE ANIME DOG! No contest, no question, best anime dog. Sorry, Heen. In my opinion, Cowboy Bebop is one of the best anime of all time. It takes place in the year 2071 and it’s about the adventures of a bounty hunter crew. Ein is an intelligent, genetically-engineered Welsh Corgi and former lab animal. He had many experiments performed on him in the past and can talk to other animals. Despite his extreme intelligence he shows throughout the series, the crew treats him like a normal dog. Ein actually is the greatest, though.

That’s it…because we need MORE ANIME DOGS!

What are some of your favorite anime dogs? Let me know in the comments!
