TEEN TITANS Live Action Series to Start Filming Pilot Next Year
It seems DC Comics and Warner Bros. have been tossing their comic book properties to whichever network that will have them. The evidence of that seems clear with Arrow and The Flash being on the CW, with Gotham on Fox, and with Constantine on NBC. Just last September we got word that TNT was getting close to a deal to film a Teen Titans pilot. Despite some skepticism, we’ve been waiting with bated breath for more news. The wait is over! Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns confirmed on Twitter earlier this week that a pilot will start filming next year!
As of right now, the television adaptation will be called Titans. The show will focus on a group of young heroes led by Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing. Joining the hero’s side are Starfire and Raven. No word yet on who else will be on the roster.
No announcement has been made on who will play the lead role of Nightwing, but Steven McQueen (The Vampire Diaries) has expressed his own personal interest in the character. If Titans gets ordered as a television series, this will be the first comic book series in the DC television lineup that features an alien element.
