NINTENDO DIRECT Reveals New AMIIBO for Spring 2015
As if we all weren’t stressed out enough struggling to get the new Amiibo that come out this February, Nintendo has announced Wave 4 in their first Nintendo Direct presentation of the year. Amiibo preorders have been selling out within a week of being announced, so I’d act quickly if I were you. 😉
Wave 4, due out this spring contains Robin, Lucina, Wario, Pac-Man, Ness, and most importantly, Charizard. One thing to be thankful for is that looks like none of these are store-exclusive, which was a nightmare with Wave 3. We’ll see. Also coming out this spring are new Mario, Yoshi, Peach, Bowser and Luigi Amiibo in exciting different poses, and finally for the first time: Toad!
The Nintendo Direct announcement this week also showed us that Amiibo are becoming compatible with more and more games, like Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Kirby And The Rainbow Curse, and awwwwwwwwyisss, Mario Party 10. I’m ready to make all my friends mad. The only problem I have is that apparently for Mario Party 10 if you want to use your Amiibos, you have to delete your Super Smash Bros file on your current Amiibo. Nobody wants to do that, so it’s probably best just to buy the newly posed ones. The Rosalina Amiibo is compatible with Mario Party 10 as well, and I’m totally heart broken that they aren’t making a new one of her since she’s in wave 3 and the pre-orders are sold out. She’s Target exclusive, so all we can do is pray they made enough, since we’ll all need 2 each (one for Super Smash, one for Mario Party 10, since you can’t use one for both). Also worth mentioning, the New Nintendo 3DS will be compatible with Amiibo! You just put them right there on the touch pad!! This is the future. In the words of Reggie Fils-Aime, “Now is the best time to be a part of the Nintendo 3DS Generation”.
In conclusion, I’m so excited about the new Amiibo. My wallet is not.
