THE X-FILES Returns for Six Episodes
The truth is out there!!
Thirteen years after it went off the air, The X-Files is coming back to television. FOX officially announced Tuesday the return of the iconic sci-fi show with a six episode limited series.
FOX hasn’t determined when it will air but production starts this summer with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Series creator and executive producer Chris Carter will be returning as well.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Carter said. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
Indeed the world has gotten stranger and I can’t wait to see what these six episodes will bring.
The X-files premiered in 1993 and gave audiences terrifying monsters, story lines that made us question what is truly out there, and introduced us to some of our favorite characters like The Smoking Man. The series ran for nine seasons and had two theatrical releases – The X-Files Fight the Future and The X-Files: I Want to Believe.
If you can’t wait for the newest adventures of Agent Mulder and Agent Scully, you can currently watch all nine seasons on Netflix – my personal favorite is Ice from season one or you can pick up The X-Files Season 10 comics, published by IDW Publishing.
What do you want to see happen in the six eposides? Who do you want to see return? Let me know in the comments!
And remember, Trust No One.
