RAY DONOVAN: The Second Season Heads To Blu-Ray/DVD

Ray Donovan has brought more than just high ratings to Showtime, it’s brought fans. Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight star in a series that has raised the stakes on storytelling, creating a world that’s grounded in reality, but offers a peak into the shadier side of living the dream.

As the title character comes to terms with his father’s betrayal, the state of his life comes into sharp realization. His home life is a mess, his business is unraveling, and along with it, his grasp on reality. Ray (Schreiber), the always in control type, is forced to make concessions that are more than a little out of his comfort zone.

Before you tune in for season three, catch up on all the drama with Ray Donovan: The Second Season, coming soon on Blu-ray and DVD. There’s a surprising number of special features available to enhance your experience, and some preview episodes of other shows on the network that might steal your attention – including Penny Dreadful, which despite not making a fan of me, has gotten decent reviews for its freshman season.

Official Synopsis:

Golden Globe® nominee Liev Schreiber and Golden Globe® winner Jon Voight return for more high-adrenaline drama when RAY DONOVAN: THE SECOND SEASON arrives on Blu-ray and DVD May 26 from Showtime Networks, CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution. This set of the SHOWTIME original series also features brand new extras, including an exclusive audio commentary from Schreiber on the episode he directed, “Walk This Way.”

Averaging more than 5.3 million weekly viewers in season two, RAY DONOVAN is set in the sprawling mecca of the rich and famous – Los Angeles – and follows LA’s best professional fixer, the man called in to make the city’s celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls’ most complicated and combustible situations go away (Schreiber).

In season two, Ray’s life erupted when the FBI, his father Mickey (Jon Voight), and his own family slip out of his control, testing his roles as protector, provider and patriarch like never before. As his estranged ex-con father dodges the law, his brother Terry (Eddie Marsan) threatens to sell the family business, his wife Abby (Paula Malcomson) finds herself drawn to another man, and daughter Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) is slipping away. In this sharp, edgy second season, Ray finds that what he wants the most is the hardest thing to fix. The cast also includes Dash Mihok, Steven Bauer, Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall and Devon Bagby. The latest season also features an impressive line-up of guest stars including Oscar®-nominees Elliott Gould and Ann-Margret, Emmy® winner Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Golden Globe nominee Sherilyn Fenn (“Twin Peaks”), Vinessa Shaw (“Eyes Wide Shut”) and Wendell Pierce (“The Wire”).
