The Simpsons, Rick and Morty Crossover For Couch Gag

For the upcoming season finale episode of The Simpsons (May 17, 2015), it was announced that the family will have some unexpected visitors dropping in during their infamous couch gag. The main title characters from the Adult Swim hit show Rick and Morty causes a slight problem for the family involving their usual multi-dimensional insanity. Rick and Morty is an original animation from Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (House of Cosbys, voice of both characters Rick and Morty) with it’s second season scheduled to premiere for July 26, 2015 on the Adult Swim block.

The Simpsons creator and Executive producer Matth Groening mentioned this about the crossover:

“This couch gag plays like a full-fledged mini-episode. It’s going to be a real treat for fans of The Simpsons, fans of Rick and Morty, and fans of animated belching.”

Justin Roiland also commented:

“We are honored and blown away to be a part of The Simpsons. If I could go back in time and tell myself that this would happen, I’d be like ‘No way, Jose!’ I simply can’t believe it. I think we might all be living in some kind of massive computer simulation to be honest. Look up simulation theory. That would explain how this happened.”
