Official ‘Miss. Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children’ Film Logo Is Here!
When it comes to the world of book to screen news, there are few of us out there that are in it for anything coming from the world of YA literature. While the genre has been mocked before by many, you can’t deny that some of the best movies in the last few years have come from books geared towards young adults.
Just last week, Tim Burton (who is directing the film) showed the title treatment for the next YA book to screen flick Miss. Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children based on the best-selling novel by my personal favorite male author, Ransom Riggs.
When the film was officially announced, I had already read the first book and had already fallen in love with Ransom’s creative mind. For those who don’t know, the book was originally going to be a book filled with old creepy photos he found at antique sales and yard sales but he was encouraged to write a story too. So everything you read in these books spawned from these amazingly eerie photos. Once I saw Tim Burton was set to direct, I had no doubt that the film was going to be the perfect blend of two of the most creative minds out there.
Check out the title treatment below. And if that’s not enough to get you interested in reading the book, I’ve also placed the trailer for the book itself. Just you can get an idea of what you’re going to be getting into and hopefully get you intrigued.
Miss. Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children will star Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Chris O’Dowd, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Kim Dickens, Rupert Everett, with Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson and is set to be released March 4, 2016.
Movie Synopsis: “Teenager Jacob follows clues that take him to a mysterious island, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s School for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores the abandoned bedrooms and hallways, he discovers that its former occupants were far more than peculiar; they possessed incredible powers. And they may still be alive.” (x)
