STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS To Take Over IMAX For A Month
Now most movies don’t stay very long on IMAX screens but not Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Before it’s even out, it was announced that the film will be taking over all IMAX screens in North America for an entire month.
We will get the chance to re watch Star Wars: The Force Awaken on IMAX screens over and over again for the first four weeks of release. The last time IMAX made this kind of announcement was for the three Hobbit films.
There are a few films set to be released on IMAX screens in November – Sony’s Spectre and Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 with Warner Bros’ In the Heart of the Sea having a release date of December 11 which means it will only get one week in IMAX. After that, they will have to make way for Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it’s released on December 18th. I actually think it will stay on IMAX screens longer then the intended month. What do you think?
Can one live in a IMAX theater? I’m asking for myself…
So get your sleeping bags and foldable chairs ready! Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be hitting theaters on December 18th!!
