UFC Star Ronda Rousey Admits She Considered Suicide After Holm Loss

UFC Superstar Ronda Rousey was considered one of the best fighters in the world  Sports Illustrated even proclaimed her the most dominant athlete in all of sports. And she backed it up, often finishing opponents in under a minute as a Pay Per View headliner. In November that all changecd, as former boxer turned Mixed Martial Artist Holly Holm knocked Rousey out.  And it wasn’t just a lucky shot either. It was a gradual wear down with a straight kick to the head followed by brutal ground and pound in the 2nd round that ended it. It appears the loss damaged Rousey emotionally as well as physically. She had a busted lip and a broken nose

Today she was on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her appearance on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and Ellen brought up “the elephant in the room”

I’m in the medical room, and I was like in the corner, sitting in the corner, and I was like, ‘What am I anymore if it’s not this?’ I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second I’m like, ‘I’m nothing. What do I do anymore? No one gives a shit about me anymore without this.’

She mentioned her boyfriend, current UFC fighter Travis Browne helped her get through what she was going though.

To be honest, I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there. And I looked up at him and I was like, ‘I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive. I was meant to have him at my lowest; I don’t think I would have made it without him.”

Rousey does plan on fighting again and the current plan is for her to face the winner of Holly Holm against Miesha Tate fight for the Featherweight Championship later this year.
