Sisters Blu-ray Review
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back doing what they do best by making people laugh. The comedic duo has shown amazing chemistry on television with their work on SNL, on stage hosting the Golden Globes, and on screen in movies like Baby Mama. The pair reunite once more in the film Sisters, playing siblings going through their own mid-life crises who decide to throw a party in their childhood home before their parents sell it off.
Sisters is written by long time Fey and Poehler collaborator Paula Pell, whose credits also include SNL and the Fey-lead television program 30 Rock. Pell is no stranger to working with Fey while writing and producing episodes of 30 Rock, acting opposite Poehler on episodes of Parks and Recreatioin, and writing for and acting with both actresses on SNL for many years. Sisters is Pell’s first screenplay and plays as almost an extension of a skit showing the animated characters going through a series of events through the night with a comical turn.
Though Sisters was not as well received as Mean Girls or even Baby Mama, Fey and Poehler continue to deliver the laughs for fans of theirs and the comedy genre as a whole. In case you missed it in theaters, here are the details on the upcoming Blu-ray release.
When their parents place the family home on the market, siblings Maura (Amy Poehler) and Kate (Tina Fey) learn that they have one weekend to clean out the junk from their old bedroom. Unhappy with the news, the recently divorced Maura and her hotheaded sister make plans to throw one final bash to recapture their glory days with their former classmates. As the raging party begins to spiral out of control, the gals soon realize that there may not be a house left to sell once the dust settles.
