New X-MEN APOCALYPSE Trailer Brings Us A War Among Gods
A new trailer for X-Men Apocalypse has arrived and we get to see the beginnings of a war among ‘Gods’.
We get our first look at Oscar Issac as the first mutant Apocalypse, his past in ancient times being brought up as a God gathering great powers and immortality, and his return after thousands of years looking to make and reign over a new world all while collecting his four new followers: Magneto (Micheal Fassbender), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), and Angel (Ben Hardy).
As mass destruction is happening all over the world, the need for a new team of X-Men arises. Coming together to do battle with them are these, what Apocalypse would call them, “false Gods”: Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawerence), Beast (Nicholas Holt), Quicksilver (Evans Peter), Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), Jean Grey (Sophia Turner), and Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee).
Just my thoughts but since some of these new X-Men are still teenagers, as they are enrolled in Xavier’s school, their still coming into their powers (and maybe accepting of who they are) and learning to take control of them. This isn’t the best time to go up against an omnipotent being like Apocalypse. It looked like even Xavier had some trouble against him. However, like Mystique says in the trailer, they won’t be students anymore, they’ll be X-Men. It’s time for those hidden powers to be released not just for themselves but for the world.
X-Men Apocalypse comes out in theaters May 27.
