The 13th Doctor Is Here And For The First Time Will Be A Woman
Whether you are a Doctor Who fan or not, you have been hearing the announcement that the 13th Doctor will be revealed on July 16. Well, today is the day and we finally know who it will be. For the first time, the Doctor will be a woman. During the reveal tweet, it was introduced that the role will be played by Jodie Whittaker. The 1 minute reveal video shows the Doctor walking through what looks like a forest until she stops, unfolds her hand, and a key appears. She later pulls back her hoodie to show her face to reveal that, yes, the next Doctor is a woman. She later walks towards the TARDIS. The video ends with “Introducing Jodie Whittaker, the 13th Doctor”
I can’t say I’m a huge Doctor Who fan but have seen some episodes and have enjoyed them. I think it’s great they have a woman this time around. I’m pretty sure there are people who are not happy with this development. From my understanding, a new Doctor is never really liked int he beginning but I’m sure once we see more of her, she’ll be more accepting in the fandom. To Jodie Whittaker, I wish the best of luck to her. This is a huge role and your life will be changed forever. Apparently, we will see the new Doctor in the Dec. 25 airing of a special Doctor Who episode which will also be the last time we see Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.
