Where do The Legends go After Screwing up Time?
It’s the question most audiences are asking since what happened at the end of season two of Legends of Tomorrow. Our heroes had just stopped the Legion of Doom, composed of Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash, Damien Darkh, Malcolm Merlyn/The Dark Archer and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold. They were victorious and their future selves protected their past selves from Thawne’s wrath as he sought to take them down. Thawne was once again erased from existence, as he was during The Flash season one, and Darkh, Merlyn and Snart were all returned back to their respective times without any memory of what happened.
When the Legends returned to the present to go to Aruba to celebrate, they ended up in Los Angeles, California where time had collapsed in on itself. They were definitely not looking for a heroin drug rehab. The reason for that was during World War I, their future selves went back in time to warn their past selves and attempt to stop Thawne’s victory. It drew future Thawne to the past as well, where he called upon many time remnants to help defeat the combined powers of the two sets of Legends.
Now, with the time broken, what will happen next?
1.) Rip Hunter Will Return. During the final scenes in Legends of Tomorrow season two’s finale, Rip Hunter left the team. Many people believed we may never see Hunter ever again. However, the character was the person who put the Legends together originally. He has been an integral member of the team and series. With his departure, however, it’s been announced he will be heading up a new organization, The Time Bureau, to regulate time travel as The Time Masters did previously. This will bring him into conflict with the Legends.
2.) Don’t Worry, Amaya’s Returning Too. When the season three synopsis was released with Amaya’s name, not on it, people worried she might not be coming back onto the series. At the end of the season two finale, she said she was planning to stay with the team. However, the synopsis confused things. Now, with confirmation from Entertainment Weekly, we know Maisie Richardson-Sellers will be back as Amaya Jiwe/Vixen.
3.) The Legends Will go on Crazy Adventures. Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance/White Canary, told TVLine that the group will be going on much nuttier adventures than ever before. “It’s going to be even crazier than it was last season,” Lotz said. Take that for what you will but the Legends being samurais or fighting dinosaurs was pretty crazy this past season. Who’s to say what will happen in season three?
4.) Isis Comes to The Waverider. Tala Ashe will join the cast as Zari Adrianna Tomaz, better known as Isis. She will be joining the Legends for the upcoming season. She is described as, “a Muslim-American woman from the year 2030, Zari lives in a world of contradictions. Technology has brought about incredible change in her future– too bad human nature hasn’t kept pace. Fear, prejudice and a lack of care for the planet have forced Zari to become ‘a grey hat hacktivist.’ A computer nerd with a wry, combative attitude. A woman living a double life who doesn’t realize that she has secret, latent powers derived from an ancient, mystical source.” That’s what the producers have to say about the character. She should be an interesting one to see join the show.
The season finale of Legends of Tomorrow season two left fans wondering just how the team will get themselves out of this pickle. They probably won’t be heading to a heroin drug rehab anytime soon. Fixing time could be, perhaps, the biggest challenge the characters have ever faced. We’ll have to see this fall what the team will do to fix everything.
