SDCC 2018: Padmé Amidala Returns in STAR WARS: QUEEN’S SHADOW

I’m always down for a good Star Wars novel and so far, the releases haven’t disappointed.

During the LUCASFILM PUBLISHING PANEL at SDCC this year, they gave us a look at some of the newest titles coming out and the one book, the one story, the one character that I’ve been waiting for got announced.

Padmé  Amidala is FINALLY getting a novel!!

Star Wars: Queen’s Shadow which is being written by E.K. Johnston (Ahsoka) and will be released on March 5, 2019.

Padmé  has been showcased lately in a few of the Star WarsForces of Destiny shorts and has randomly popped up in the Star Wars comics from Marvel but there hasn’t been a novel / full story for her and I’m absolutely excited! She is one of my favorite characters in the prequels –  She rescued her entire planet during the blockade from the Trade Federation, she holds her own ground during the battle on Geonosis, and let’s not get into the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. And if you watch Star Wars The Clone Wars, you know how much she excels; stand out in that series.

Queen’s Shadow takes place during Star Wars Episode I – The Phantom Menace and Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones. We will get the full story of her transition from Queen of Naboo to a member of the Senate.

This is her story! She won’t be second fiddle to anyone! No Anakin, no Obi-Wan, not even Jar-Jar Binks. I have no idea if these characters will pop up in the book or not but you guys, this is Padmé ‘s book! They can just show up in one sentence and never be read about again in this book.

I’ve waited years for this and no one can take it from me.
