League of Legends: What’s New?
Whether some players like it or not, League of Legends is still the biggest game in the world when it comes down to play and fan base. Ever since it came out 10 years ago, it quickly took over the world, despite the fact that many people “accused it” of being a Dota 2 copycat. No wonder it is one of the biggest esports right now, which is why we have an in-depth esports news coverage about it.
Recently, Riot Games held a special conference about the 10th anniversary of this fantastic game. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.
If you are a die-hard LoL fan, you’ve probably seen a short video that was released from Riot Games a couple of weeks ago. In case you’ve missed it, it was basically showing a rivalry between two of the most popular characters in the game – Thresh and Lucian.
At first, it seems like this your “normal” confrontation. However, there were a lot of easter eggs that revealed that this video is all about Lucian’s wife called Senna. This was confirmed at the conference by Riot Games, but they didn’t spoil any other info about her. That said, we are pretty sure that she will be ADC-support judging by what we saw in the video.
Other Game Changes
During the years, we’ve seen a lot of changes to LoL. The newest update will be called “Rise of the Elements” and it will focus mainly on the Element Drakes, which will change the outlook of the map while playing.
There will be various new “routs” around the map, allowing the players to do those unexpected ganks or helping a teammate whenever no one is expecting it. Lore-wise, these paths are made by the Infernal Drake as he shatters the Summoner’s Rift. In general, the map will change depending on what Elemental Drakes are killed by one of the teams.

Changes Outside LoL
Apart from the changes to League of Legends, there are also tons of new stuff that were announced.
As expected, we will soon have a special fighting game that will take place in LoL universe. So far, we only know that its codename – Project L, but we are yet to see what will the “end product” be like.
Project A is the codename for something that was expected a long time ago – Riot Game’s version of Counter-Strike. Unlike Project L though, this game will not be set in the LoL universe, which is rather unexpected.
As if can’t get even crazier, there is also going to be a new sandbox game. Similar to Football Manager, Riot Games have a plan of creating a game where you can manage your very own professional LoL team. Supposedly, this new game will be launched in 2020.
There was also news about a new card game, a new action RPG, which has all the potential to become one of the best RPGs of all time. Lastly, there was also an announcement about the upcoming TV series Arcane, which is about to hit the big screens soon.
As you can see, there were tons of changes. Sadly, all we can do at this point is to sit back and wait for the new games to be officially announced.
